Set in a town of Bengal its a gripping story of Durga who does a clerical job in a school. She notices one of the student Mini, a cute and innocent six year old who is always brought to the Principal's office for her worsening scholastic performance and habit of sleeping during the classes. One fine day when she couldn't control her urge and finally asks Mini she replies that someone doesn't lets her sleep at night. Having experienced past full of sexual abuse as a child herself Durga articulates Mini's behavior and acts instinctively. Her habit of keeping thighs tightly close, being less talkative, going on with life like a living corpse ;Mini mirrored her in every sense. Durga made it a mission of her life to not let someone else meet the same fate and goes to extreme limits to find the assaulter who comes to be Mini's uncle.Its a story about her zeal, determination and stubborn nature to protect Mini and the trials and tribulations of her journey. At one point when she finally breaks the news to the family she finds out Mini jumping off the terrace to take away her life. Its harrowing that what forces a child who hasn't understood the meaning of life completely to take away her life, live with a guilt that she doesn't deserve, have future nightmares, awakenings and repercussions even if she survives. And what is even more surprising is the people doing this are the so called educated and respected people in the society and the ones who are known to these children. It is shattering to everyday see the rising number of cases of domestic violence, physical and sexual abuse around the world in this quarantine period;basically suggesting that the outside world is safer than your own home. I don't know from where do these people get this amount of lechery and depravity that make them think its okay to afflict irreparable damage to children who haven't even crossed the first decade of their life. Durga with all the pains she carried in herself, with a failed marriage because of her inability to function anymore sexually,  her haunting past ;strides ahead to become a savior for someone else for there is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of the way and tries to make life beautiful for others.
